Cocktail hours, which are usually void of live entertainment, can be a perfect place for bagpipes to be played. A single piper can easily blend in the room and provide background music for your guests. Keep in mind that the bride and groom are usually busy taking photos at this time. If the couple is nearby they may not see the piper, but they will certainly hear them being played
During the Reception
This is the most popular time for bagpipers to play other then immediately after the wedding ceremony during the receiving line.
The best time to have the piper(s) play is sometime after the main course has been served and everyone is seated. This will be usually 2-3 hours after the reception has begun. The bagpipes will not distract from you wedding during this time. This is usually when the band/dj will take a break and the bagpipes will fill the void in music. Don't be surprised to see your guests clapping and dancing to the pipe music.
Bride and Groom Dance
A waltz played while the bride and groom dance by themselves is very popular choice. A perfect tune for this dance is "Those Endearing Young Charms"
